First Glance

First Glance

A Poem by Eric Weick

Looking up,

into lights, so blinding,

an image plastered to the wall

at first glance,

was frightening.

Knew her before,

as a girl,

beauty came with

a second look.

A smile so trusting,

and a boy she took.

Red hair then,

red hair now,

Boy was then,

can’t tell you now.

All he has passed,

but you were, the,

first glance...

his vary first,

that caught his eye,

His vary first idol,

that he must let die,

on this wall.

And now your just,

a picture.

Ever just…

The title is perfect for this poem. I like the way you used "ever just" n the end of the poem. The order of words appeal to me. Thanks for sharing, Eric.

Woah... Erick. This is REALLY powerful... It made me feel the loss of this woman... Great job. :)
