Fall

Fall

A Poem by Grenouille Rousse

You remind me of autumn
When the leaves change colors
And fall to the earth
I'm not quite sure why
But you seem
Natural
As autumn
Warm
As my sweaters
Quiet
As the wind

I dream in October
and November, of the warmth
That has disappeared
And of good company.

Let's get in a car
And look at all the trees
as they pass by
And sing
at the top of our lungs
And drive
until the stars come out
and the moonlight shines on your face
Then we'll stay inside
huddled by a fire
breathing in
the steam of hot chocolate
until the embers die
And our eyes
can't stay open
any longer

Author's Note

Grenouille Rousse
One of the mushiest things I have ever written, but I like it... About a boy, of course. Photo is not mine!
