Faint golden light from a lavender sun

scratched in charcoal sketches of life days

glass etchings and pottery spent with

the music of the Beatles lacing ribbons around us

oils draped on soul and spirit

black and blue

a word of praise for paint

and the warm sun

days of meandering halls with no direction

but that room

a haven from piercing shadows

colored in light tones of amber sunsets

saving the outcasts

embracing the strays...

Author's Note

An owl on the moon
A surreal dedication to my high school art teacher Mr. Brooks who helped save many aimless lives. Hope life has been as kind to him as he was to us... Don't think I would still be alive if not for that haven...

Yep, you left cookies and my favorite kind...expression filled..light and airy ....with all the hints of skill. I do admire you and all the other artists here.I only scribble while you preform miracles. Time all but stops when I enter into these great kingdoms. Yours are truly more than just words or paintings...they are the masterpieces of essence, love,& wisdom. I am glad that Mr. brooks saved you ...the world needs multifaceted souls like yourself to keep sanctuary tween the shades alive. :)

Delightful read...it's symmetry from beginning to end flows like a quiet brook of comfort.

glass etchings and pottery spent with
the music of the Beatles lacing ribbons around us
oils draped on soul and spirit
black and blue

Definitely a cozy creature. Nice one!

Such a tremendous flirting with the cadence of words, symbols and metaphors! Each line is a symphony of colors, music, soul and spirit...such a wondrous journey of discovery and dedication!

And what a welcome place it must have been. Some thoughts just light up our souls and we carry their warmth in our cores till the end of our lives.

Your portrayal of that guiding light is awesome. Loved it.

Embracing the strays, the woolly chaps, sent comfort, warm to the calf, pulled chilled near stiff out of the wire line white with cool whipped snow, Gloved fingers stroked her ears a lonely reassurance, and the wind capped the shade, bent his hat, stiffened his resolve,His horse sensed a command ,Hunched under him and plowed on through the white piles now chest deep, the stiff tail now blown to his flanks, ears closed, the three rode on trying to beat darkness,to warm life.

I can picture the room in awe. Our skills will always be brought to the surface in such surroundings filled with talent from others. It can only but pass on to us.
I'm quite sure Mr Brooks would be beaming with pride for you now xxx
