Sonhos de Crisalida

Sonhos de Crisalida

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

The world is sleeping...

"

The world is sleeping

Slumbering still

With eyes closed

Minds racing in madness

As if a caterpillar in a chrysalis dream

Somewhere between crawling and fluttering

Somewhere undisclosed

Dark threads encapsulating us

Vibrations of light just beyond our grasp

Wondering

Wondering if our instincts can be trusted

Wishing we knew what the darkness had in store

The wings were only visions

Only wishes

But they grow stronger

When we release the cords of earth

When we are no longer bound to reputation

Bound by constructs of the world

When will we awaken?

When will our wings be illuminated

And the third eye opened?

Listen

Listen to the threads snapping

To the screams of our prison

Breaking apart

There is no more time to crawl

Only time to stretch our wings

And find this home that has haunted us

All our days

Time to fly fierce into the heavens

Author's Note

An owl on the moon
“This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet.”
― Rumi

Thank you so much. This year I hope to fly.
A amazing poem. The poem felt like a secret and private whisper.
"Listen
Listen to the threads snapping
To the screams of our prison
Breaking apart"
The above lines tender and with great meaning. Thank you my friend for sharing your amazing poetry.

I felt the words and you are welcome.
We miss the point of life a lot, as humans. We have this race that we want to win, that we never agreed to be a part of, we just find ourselves running one day and if we're thinkers, we realize that we're bound by these intangible things and we create our own prisons. I think everyone's prison is different, but I know that for me, I'm becoming more brave and unafraid to be myself. I always wanted wings. I always wanted to fly.

Like new born mice, we are still blind to most of what is around us.
'Tis not the world that's sleeping, it is us.

Wonderful poetry.

That's so true. That blindness, for some it lasts a lifetime. May we truly learn to see.
It only takes one to help another see. I love the imagery you've used and the hope that is implied

I hope so. Thank-you for your art
Wow...another poem that just grabs the reader by the heart, shakes, then sets us down gently with a kiss on the cheek.
Love this line: When we are no longer bound to reputation/Bound by constructs of the world
And this: Listen to the threads snapping/To the screams of our prison/Breaking apart
So very rich in imagery...so much depth and passion.
Perhaps my favorite line of all is the closing one: Time to fly fierce into the heavens
I love the concept of that...flying fierce into the heavens...wow.
Reminds me of Thomas's: Do not go gentle into that good night/Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Beautifully penned poem, C.

C Froman,
This was a vulnerable honest voice. Meaningful because it is our very weakness and brokenness that we find hope and commonality with one another. Like a caterpillar between crawling and fluttering............in a chrysalis dream. Yes I get it. Its easy to stay there but it is a dream and not reality. Threads snapping, prison breaking apart. Yes we all want this. Beautiful work Blessings Kathy

Such poetic truths you breathe, your voice is beautifully resounding, but dear poet, it is always darkest before the dawn. A great awakening is sure to come, for some I hope its not to late
