Umbrella Man

Umbrella Man

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Rainy days caress the windows in silver...

"

Rainy days caress

the windows in silver

drizzled on the glass...

I want to curl up

and sleep in her mind

swim the deep water

of her dreams...

If the rain falls

like sad faces all around

then open me up

spread out my arms

I’ll cover her

and be her umbrella man

shade her from words

in the atmosphere

that descend like knives...

For now life painted wine red

dripping down my canopy

chocolate raindrops

mix with truffled kisses

confessions of forever...

Please let me swim

the deep water

of her dreams…

I enjoyed this one..That very captivating romantic young love...Such wonderful thoughts that your picture and write brings to mind..I am glad that I chose this one to read this afternoon..I was delighted that you read my take on "Killing Me Softly With His Song."..Which movie was this song featured? Don't remember...Have a great evening..Sara

This is so beautiful, funny and full of marvelous imagery. I could easily imagine these lyrics as a song of a musical, it somehow reminds me of "I'm singing in the rain" with Gene Kelly, but here with a much better imagery... Happy the one who inspired you so wonderfully.
I love this.

My hopeful romantic of a brother!

I love this! :DD It reminds me of tambourine man, even though that song has nothing to do with the rain lol. Keep writing, it's amazing!

this is a charming view of a man's chivalry. It seems with all the equality in the world this doesn't seem to happen anymore..I loved it

Wow... I love this.

The flow is perfect and the imagery is beautiful.

"I’ll cover her
and be her umbrella man
shade her from words
in the atmosphere
that descend like knives..."

The subtle way you go from speaking of actual rain to .. problems and pain of life is creative and perfect.

I love every line :)

Each line is so connected that the idea never strays. The words paint the picture of an emotion strong and powerful. The desire to protect that special someone placed into intruiging words. Another beautiful piece.

You never fail to capture and amaze me with your words Craig! This was so sweet and whimsical down to the font, very dreamlike, timeless if you will.
