The flight into ether

The flight into ether

A Poem by Chandradhish Ghosh

It took off untethered,

Leaving the million footprints

It made during its stay,

To be erased by time.

Quietly it went back to its old loved ones-

Like in a silent sleep-

To the land of dreams,

Where darkness and light collide.

Leaving the ones behind in screaming emptiness

Still tethered to its ethereal existence.

Will it ever come back to share

And describe the voyage to the land of unknown?

To mollify the rising hurt of its lovers

May be it will…

In dreams and memories.

But I know no secrets would be revealed

No answers would be provided

As to whether it was the end

Or the beginning?

well i always did love a bit of literature and digging deeper into the words. when i first read it i was like hhmm, what could this one be about? but that's the beauty of poetry, each reader gets to interpret e piece in their own unique way, I've been thinking of a number of different ways to look at it and different possibilities of what "it" could be, really tickles the imagination hey. the one thing i could probably really equate it to is the journey of the sun, for some reason as i was reading in between the lines it just made me think of the journey the sun takes each day. so guess to me it reminds me of the sun :) :)

I'm not sure what or who it is but I love the backstory...I couldn't stop reading until I made it to the end. My lust for the written word was amply satisfied. Lovely work.

I wasn't sure but that sounds plausible.
Ah you always make me think...ha too hard for this time of the morning, need another cuppa perhaps, I think you're talking about your soul here. Could be way way off. Enjoyed my shrewd friend. :-)
