Have you ever....

Have you ever....

A Poem by charleybear

Have you ever...

Have you ever been let down?

Have you ever been made to cry?

Have you ever been so lonely

you wished that you would die.

Have you ever seen them laugh?

Have you ever seen them play?

Have you ever seen them altogether,

and wished you could be a part one day?

Have you ever felt ugly?

Have you ever felt fat?

And been made to think size 12

is repulsive and drab?

Have you ever felt unnatural?

Have you ever been made to pay,

because one day you told them

"I'm a 16 year old gay?"

Have you ever felt you didn't fit in?

This world so harsh and cruel,

A young boy or girl,

You had no rights at all.

PERFECT! Extremely brilliant! Deep and sincere! You aren't alone in asking these questions, I ask them every day. I know it isn't easy being gay, I'm 15 and still have to pay for telling people I'm bi. I loved this poem, it was beautiful and eye-opening.

I'd have to agree with my friend Wildecat. It is true, everyone has been in this place either one time or another. And if not, their time will come when they too will be asking question why them. Good job! : )

I loved this!!! I'm in high school right now, and I don't think there is a single person in my entire school that couldn't relate to this in some way. Absolutely incredible. Great flow, wonderful message, and I love how you pulled it all together in the end.

Great job! :]

Good use of repetition to create rhythm and forward momentum. A very emotional piece.

Good questions to ask to get feedback.
Trust me when I say this....You are not alone
in asking such things! We all have asked questions
of ourselves. Living, period, is a struggle.
Worse, if we are made to live inside a certain image.
Honest, heartfelt write. Good job

Ahh... Highschool. Haha. Only thing that you need to fix is punctuation at the end of the first stanza. Other than my grammar OCD, perfectly beautiful! Forever and always.

Most of us have been there and done that in our lives, believe me it was a lot tougher when I was growing up. Nice write.
