Pretty niche, this one. A short poem about the transition between Alex Ferguson and Dave Moyes at Manchester United.

He said, “What we need is someone like me
A man who has roots in shipyard or mine.
That he be Scottish and decent is key,
An heir to Busby and Paisley and Stein.”

He misunderstood why he’d had success
And thought the team needed a soft reboot
Around a man who was similar… less
All the rare skills that had made him so good.
