Strong

Strong

A Poem by bjjgirl

Why does everyone

Want to be

Dauntless and

Not feel any pain

Hurt and agony

Are seen as wicked things

Nobody wants to

Feel them

They just want them to go away

Everyone is avoiding

The things that are going wrong

Everyone is hiding

From any type of harm.

But I see things differently,

then most people my age,

Yes I have been hurt,

And left alone,

I have been abandon

By my dearest of friends,

And the people who told me

That they would never hurt me

Made me feel the most pain.

I am grateful for this suffering,

I am grateful for this pain,

Because all of these emotions

Are caused by one thing

Love…

I feel the hurt

Because I took a chance

I was happy

I was free

When everything went wrong

I felt the agony

of everything that used to be

I have learned that when

You feel the hurt

Its was because you where truly living

I have learned to embrace this part of life,

I welcome it with open arms,

Because if I didn’t feel this hurt

It would be because everything

I love is gone

I have herd people say

That when you’re wounded

You are weak,

But I believe that is wrong

Because the people who

Have loved and lost

Are the strongest of the strong

The people that have

Been hurt the most

Have learned

That life moves on

Why! So much truth...There is a winners attitude in this piece...
Someone that can not and will not be deterred from accomplishing all their goals and dreams.
This is the mindset of a leader...great work.

OMG this is brilliant ...I love it. It does measure out the weight of agony, and when you have been there certainly does make you strong to keep pushing ON!

You are very wise.
"I feel the hurt
Because I took a chance
I was happy
I was free'
Old wise saying. "Never danced or loved. Never knew what was missed." Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I absolutely adore this poem. Every word you have said is true. Pain shows that you took a chance and made the feelings yours. Good or bad, you LIVED, and that's what matters. xo :)

Wonderful. You have a great attitude. Pain and loss are great teachers, and embracing them in order to lift yourself back up is hard. But once you succeed, nothing can defeat you. :)

I like this very much. I like that its a life story. I like that its author is looking and paying attention to something very specific, (loss), and is then turning it into an expressive wisdom that we all can now draw and learn from. Its good for me to read this. Your tone is very different than mine. So its good for me to hear how other people say this similar thing that I also say too. That the pain of loss is scared. And somehow out of my wounds, comes my blessings. They are brother and sister to one another... equally. So if yin-yang be true... or Themis's balance just... then even my best of days will have just as much up as just as much down. And he or she that understands that, changed and different from other men and women they become. As you say, you 'see' things differently than those your age.
I feel as you. As a culture, we have become afraid of pain and sadness and loss. We have forgotten their language, and thus we can no longer greet them as welcome guests when they happen upon our doors.
We only let 'happy times' and 'positive attitude' into our homes... those languages we speak still. The language of more. So I am glad to find another fair minded friend, one who honors the full spectrum of life's rich emotional tapestry, and strums freely upon all its string... "That life moves on"-
Wonderful poem.
Thank you.

I loved the whole meaning to this piece.
It was strong, deep, moving, emotional, and inspiring.
You have a positive outlook, on life and pain that most people don't, and that makes you strong.
I loved the ending perfect.
Great write i enjoyed the read :)

I like how you wrote this, a lot of times when we feel pain it is because we really care. Some have a hard time in dealing with pain and do try staying away from it like your poem said, but everyone encounters pain and it is best to learn how to deal with it in a healthy way and moving forward then trying to escape it because that only causes more pain and despair.

Good Job
