Be the Good in the World

Be the Good in the World

A Poem by C. Lee Battaglia
"

Be the good!

"

No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. If we don’t try, then what’s the point?

There is no way you can be someone you are not, but who you are is the best you anyone can be.

With life comes the ability to choose. With the ability to choose comes responsibility. And without responsibility society collapses.

We judge others based on our own insecurities. And those who are different tend to be judged more frequently and more harshly. If each accepted who she/he is, then it would be easier to accept others with their differences. If everyone chose to be themselves then there would be peace. We need to stop comparing ourselves to others.

Just try to be the best "you" you can be!

Forget about being "cool” or “popular.” Just be yourself. Conversely, don't call someone "ugly" or "stupid." Instead, encourage them to be the best they can be.

Words are more powerful than bullets. While the latter kill the body, the former deaden the spirit. And while the body is temporary, the spirit is forever…

So, share a smile and say an uplifting word. Be the torchlight that lights the darkness around you. Be the good in the world!

I love the message!!!! A quote that I came up with and I hope that it goes down in history "Everybody differences is what makes everybody the same." Meaning the fact that we are all different is what makes us so alike... Continue the positiveness....

So true in all cases- people deal with their own insecurities by putting others down. I see this all the time. i would ask you something- who defines the vest you can be? i don't know about you but, in my life, various people all have different ideas about what can make me a better person and think they are more qualified than me to decide what is best for me

Very well said noone is perfect everyone has some flaws and yes life comes great reponsibilities .Today our world is gradually turning into a ugly hell and many people are greedy and bad here. So it'll be very good to be the good in the world and bring piece and humanity.

Your most welcome. You wrote your true feelings and that is what made it great
This would make a great spoken word poem! It delivers a very powerful message and flows wonderfully. My favorite line is who we are is the best someone we can be. Great work! :)

A wonderful sentiment, but not quite the poem I hoped it would be. As a set of quotes, it works quite well, so maybe framing them in a narrative perspective as something larger might work. Or perhaps phrasing it more as an argument in shorter line length and a little more meat to it could make it not just a nice thought but a good rallying call.

Such wise words! People judge us because who we are, if everyone chose to be themselves there would be peace. Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if more would choose to live this way. Your woards are powerful and heartfelt.
