How this world would be

If there was no more "Thunder"

What if there was no more pain?

No more anger?

Then in this life, there would be nothing to gain,

There would even be more danger

We would have nothing to grow from,

We need these emotions in our lives,

The reasons may seem dumb

But if we don't strife

Then there would be no life,

Think & Wonder…

If we were sharp as a "knife"

If we would take the time to ponder

What if we were the good?

Helping each other be happy?

Because I'm sure we could,

Make other people not feel so crappy,

Think & Wonder…

That's what we do,

Think & Wonder…

Now Let's do more "Doing"

And Less, "Thinking"

Do & Remember...

The last stanza sums it all up and gives it a powerful and elegant ending

I liked the ideal of doing good deeds and they expanding. If all of us do what we could. Could be a better world. Thank you for sharing the hopeful and positive poetry.

Hey this is a gorgeous piece of work. With a really valid point of view. If everything was peachy and perfect we would have nothing to grow from. Nothing to keep life going on. ed be in an eternal stand still. Its actually really scary. But the truth is that there cannot be good without bad, love without hate and so on so forth.

According to science, if there was no thunder, then that would mean there would be no lightning. Without lightning, there would not be enough energy to make molecules come together to form amino acids in the days where the earth was nothing but a boiling 'soup'. Without amino acids, there are no proteins. Without protein, there is no life. Literally, then, we wouldn't have anything to "grow from." Therefore, I love this analogy of thunder, as it can be seen as accurate in both the literal and metaphorical sense!!!

But anyways, I agree! There is no up without a down, there is no light without the darkness. Without one and its contrast, how could we really, learn, grow, know the good in this world without the evil at every corner? We wouldn't have the ability to see the bad in the world, or think and wonder about it for a while. We wouldn't be able to choose the brightest path. But since there happens to be bad in this world, we still all have the option to be the good, leading into your question, "What if we were the good?"

And what if we were? That would be amazing to see the day when everyone chooses the right path.
