Sadness

Sadness

A Poem by Chelsea

Sadness

I see a girl perched upon a lone rock

A rock far away from her world, a rock of escape

I see a girl that has had her hopes crushed

She didn’t even have a chance

I hear her muffled cries,

As she keeps her sadness to herself

I hear the voices looping around in her head

The mean things said by others cemented into her

I taste the life she wants

The way life should be, but it’s been written and can’t be erased.

I try and touch her heart, to soften it

But it’s as hard a brick wall, making her indestructible. But locked away,

I smell the unhappiness, depression

Trapped in her, begging to be let out,

sadness has a way of making us introvert (more so than before) making us almost impossible to reach... compliments and insults bounce off as we sink deeper and deeper into our own personal darkness... until we find that one light to hold onto, we grab it with both hands, and it takes us to the surface, where the air is clean and the sky is clear... a liberating breath of happiness. well written. :)
