Dance

Poem about dances.

Dance

This beat pumps through the gymnasium

Lights bounce about,

Red, green, orange, all colours

They flash upon the glittered eyes of the girls

My dress, fits tightly again my body

Does I catch your eyes, men?

Bodies pack the gym.

DJ, spin that s**t,

I venture to the floor, steps in time with the beat

Let’s shake it, get down

There she goes!

Grab the hands of the ones on the sidelines

The ones to shy to let their hair down

Show them how to move, how to groove

Throw your head back, laughing

Enjoy the moment, it’s one to remember

Let’s make it a night!

I wrote this poem about a school dance last year. It was so much fun, just dancing, enjoying the music, killer time with friends! So I wanted to remember it forever so I wrote a poem about it! Please review :)
Also, this picture isn't mine. I just like it alot!

You almost made me picture it...almost. I never had much of an imagination. :) But still as sum1 put it:
we must be prudent in the words we select to express our feelings and experiences. Inspiration is always there waiting for us. The candle flame continually beckons; but we must carefully interpret how its flickering rhythm chants.

Work on the structure.

This was a really fun read. It had me smiling and thinking of a few dances I have attended. Good job :D

We need to celebrate being alive. Best days in my life was in clubs with good music and dancing with beautiful woman. I like the feel and the emotion of this poem. Dancing can make us free of the world problems for a time. A excellent poem.

now this sounded really carefree and cool, like one could just dance those problems away! that was very well-written here, well-played! this sure reminded me of Usher's song "DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again". wow!

I love this poem. I can actually picture the scene vividly as I read it. Must have been a fun night. I remember my freshers dance at college at school when I was 16.
