One Stormy Night

One Stormy Night

A Poem by Chelsea

One Stormy Night

I walk in the woods

Alone, my hand is not entwined with anybodies

I am caught up in the lies I tell myself

I’m ugly, fat, no good, worthless

I take no notice, at the maddening weather

The wind tugs my hair from behind, until it hurts

The skies glower down at me,

Black and blue, beaten, revenge they claim,

Pouring rain upon me

It pelts my face,

Why? I drop to my knees

Confusion sweeps me,

My thoughts wander back to my slamming words

No, no, no, no,

I realize, these to be lies,

Spoon fed to me from an evil force,

I fight back, feeling the lord’s strength

I’m beautiful, good, worth something

I say these words, believing them for once

Truly believing.

yeah! such determination is so often overlooked in our lives nowadays. this was very powerful and strong, awesome work!
and this really proves the power of Rene Descartes's epic quote "Je pense, donc je suis." (that all-famous one "I think, therefore I am").
very well done!

Many times in life we think we aren't good enough when we really are. We have to train ourselves to think differently and to see ourselves in a new light. This poem show how we can make ourselves feel worthless.

I know it's such a cliche, but yet so true...you have to love yourself before you can love others. You've told a beautiful story of self-realization here. Keep believing!

This is why I put you in my poem.
I feel like you were beaten up by words during a storm and you actually play the repetition of having faith in the end.

Go you
