Death Drawings

Death Drawings

A Poem by Chelsea
"

A poem about suicidal thoughts.

"

Death Drawings

You sit, away in a corner

Alone, away from the lively

Huddled into awkward knots, you are

As if you were trying to contain yourself

From what? I’m unsure of.

You etch upon, a virgin sheet of paper

With a black inked pen

With a shaky hand and a fierce look

I see pictures of death

Raping the paper

I realize, this is what you want

To take a final breath.

Very dark and well written. You captured the essance of this very well. So many people go through thinking to themselves if they should commit suicide, but I can tell you that going there and actually going through with it are two totally different ordeals. I myself have thought about it, but havent gone through with it. I keep thinking when I'm alone there has to be something out there that is better than the way I'm living. Granted I have my family for support, but I still wonder will it ever get better? Eventually, it does because you realize what is important in one's life. Again very well written as goes for the rest of your pieces.

My compliments...the imagery is so powerful...if the poem had been longer i'm sure i would've been affected a lot more.

Your images are very strong here. Each line is great but I don't quite feel the flow, it's a little roughly joined.

"Huddled into awkward knots"
Great line.
Excellent thoughts, maybe think about the flow a little more (:

I would say that everyone at one time or another has considered suicide, we very emotional beings can get caught in our own world of disillusion. It usually comes down to if we have the guts to finish ourselves off. I can proudly admit that I am a coward and did not have the guts! Great Write!

Very dark. well written. ive been there before, but i guess since my life has gotten a little brighter, i no longer understand how my world could have been so dark. i get it though. i feel bad for those that actually feel like thats their only way out. once you hit bottom you only have one way to go and thats up. not worth killin yourself over before you have a chance to taste the good part of what life CAN bring. like love, and children, and true devotion.

This was a pretty interesting poem. I do like the idea of a drawing "raping the paper."
