At Home

At Home

A Poem by Chelsea
"

I always feel at home when by water, especially the ocean!

"

At Home

I smell the salty oceans

As my feet walk the path,

A path of golden sand

The sun hovers above,

The oceans’ crashing waves

As if strung on a clay diorama

My toes wiggle in the hot sand

Water laps my steaming toes

Cleansing them

A seagull cries

I watch the streak of beauty

Silhouetted by the setting sun

My heart

Intoxicated with the ocean

The place I call home.

I have to say it is a sweet thing to notice the little things that make a house a home
the sounds sights and smells that say to us we are home.though many dont know a home as beautiful as you describe. We all remember the dent in the wall the marks of each our height left by mothers and fathers as we grew.Home is as much a place in the mind as in the heart.

i always quote the amazing bits of writers poetry and this was amazing. You have a power packed method of description that enables the reader to paint a vivid picture and feel exactly what you want them to. I felt myself strolling along the beach and stunned at the beauty of the moment. I was lost in it and that doesn't happen alot when i'm reading peoples poems. So i applaud you for this beautiful poem and thank you for sharing. Magnificent

Lovely! This really speaks to me, as I am getting ready to ditch this cold weather and head for the ocean for the entire summer. :D

I live near the ocean, and this brought me right to the waves. I love the sea and this was a good tribute to it.

I have always loved the ocean too bad I don't live close to it. It is beautiful and untamed. It is calming and energizing. I love the imagery in this poem
