At Home

At Home

A Poem by Chelsea
"

I always feel at home when by water, especially the ocean!

"

At Home

I smell the salty oceans

As my feet walk the path,

A path of golden sand

The sun hovers above,

The oceans’ crashing waves

As if strung on a clay diorama

My toes wiggle in the hot sand

Water laps my steaming toes

Cleansing them

A seagull cries

I watch the streak of beauty

Silhouetted by the setting sun

My heart

Intoxicated with the ocean

The place I call home.

I have to say it is a sweet thing to notice the little things that make a house a home
the sounds sights and smells that say to us we are home.though many dont know a home as beautiful as you describe. We all remember the dent in the wall the marks of each our height left by mothers and fathers as we grew.Home is as much a place in the mind as in the heart.

I adore the awesomeness of the visuals you put in front of me. It's so easy to picture, and so beautiful. I like this one a lot. My favorite part is probably the last stanza, second line. "Intoxicated with the ocean", although I enjoyed many other portions of this poem. :)

I love this!!! Last year when I went to San Diego Dad stopped by a beach and then Reece and I went and played in the waves. It was so much fun! (After it kind of sucked though because I didn't have anywhere to change so I had to go in my clothes and then I was covered in salt, :P) And then the next beach we went to we surfed there, and we saw a WILD dolphin! Lol. Gorgeous poem! The forest, fields, and lake/creeks are my home but still I love this:)

It looks great. I wish I had an ocean by my house. I should take a picture of my window view, it's a huge contrast. This poem is beautiful.

You are very lucky. I was station on both coastlines with the Army. Nothing better the a day at the beach. I understand the feelings and emotion of this poem. I wish I could take a morning walk and be with the sea. A outstanding poem.
