Please Smile

Please Smile

A Poem by ashley
"

Not my favorite thing I've written but it's definitely one that was brought on by real emotion so maybe with some work I can make it something better.

"

My Heart is melting, Darling.

You left it in the sun.

Baby, Dear, Honey, Sweetie

You watched each drip and drop.

I see you splashing in the puddle,

with that smile that makes me weak.

Baby, Dear, Honey, Sweetie

Does it make me sick?

To pray to God the sun won't quit

and stop each painful drop and drip?

I may be empty, but Baby please just let me see that,

Smile.

           Smile.

Smile.

Very good linking of the sun imagery and "his" smile, along with the puddle/submersion mixed metaphor too. I like it!
