I'm Free

I'm Free

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem of joy.

"

I’m Free!

Hollow caverns of my soul

exhale peace tonight,

much like a tree sheds

it’s dying,

tattered leaves of autumn.

With the sun reflecting

prisms of light onto

my honey halo,

and my brain floating around

in the fresh air without a care,

my inner child wants to

leap with glee,

twist-a-dance,

run-a-muk all day and all night.

I’m finally free to be me!

The wonderful thing about having children is that you can play with Barbie, color in coloring books, get muddy on purpose, dance silly dances, and sing wacky songs. I think, now that the kids are grown, that I might still be great therapy for me. I positive and wonderfully written poem!
