Owl

Owl

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

a nature write about an owl that used to sit outside my window

"

Owl

Surveying the
surrounding landscape
from all directions,
on top of my building perch,
I sing to you a song of the blues,
as I stand guard over you
as you sleep in your dwelling.

With my feathers of white,
and my green and black speckled eyes,
I sing   ...hoota, hoo, hoo
           ...hoota, hoo, hoo

How cute. I love all of the different sounds owls can make, and how each one can look so different. Small, but nice poem

Congrats on the great winning poem. I could actually hear the owl hooting. Keep up the good work.
