Mr. Sun

Mr. Sun

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A sun poem.

"

Mr. Sun

Standing next to you I shimmer

Your handsome face next to mine, we’re winners

Your hot body keeps me warm in the winter

With you and I need margaritas, break out the blender

Thank you for the natural highlights that make my hair glimmer

You make me beautiful, ready for the big spenders

When you really heat up, I lose my appetite so much I need suspenders

You give me so much joy, I’m living in splendor

I can’t wipe the smile off my face when you’re out, I’m no pretender

When you shine on me, I become a fast sprinter

Standing next to you Mr. Sun, I shimmer.
