Hanging With The Moon

Hanging With The Moon

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A song about music.

"

Hanging With The Moon

Moving to the deep hollow

rhythm of the double bass

coupled the with

dance of the piano keys

and the slow cadence of the guitar strum.

This Master of Jazz carries me away,

off to an old flowing riverboat,

cruising off into the sunset,

taking my restless feet with it,

so I can hang with the Moon,

for a while.

Was listening to this live jazz band one night, when I wrote this poem. What peace the music gave me.

A nice atmospheric poem...

Minus that minuscule detail, this was amazing. I often describe music as the air that I breathe. I cannot go a whole day without listening, and this poem definitely captures that feeling a good song/band/artist can give you.

Really love this poem, reading it stirred up a relaxing feeling with me. And made me think of the owl and the pussycat for some reason. Really beautiful. x

No one could have expressed the music
and the mood better than you .
Beat of the drums with the strum of guitar
and dancing freet takes you to the moon.

A sweet poem.

Thank you,

-----John
