Diamond patterns slide;
diamondback rattlesnake glides,
poison is his game.

Ah! Superb. I'm not a fan of haikus to be honest, but I really liked this one. And I think this is very good because it might be applied to a few humans too! "Diamond patterns" fits rattlesnakes, and, with some stretch of imagination, humans too. (Cards? ;) ) "Poison is his game".. this requires no stretch of imagination to apply this to humans, lol.

A well written poem...the rattlesnake deserves more respect and admiration...I see a rattlesnake at least once a month in the warm months, and I know they would prefer not to bite, but will do so if necessary in self defense.

I like this poem. Trickery with the words. I met a few diamondback rattlesnakes in my life. I gave them the right of way. A excellent poem.
