Ardmore

Ardmore

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem of my hometown.

Ardmore

Ardmore is my mother home, my aurora.

Afternoons dancing, acting and playing music kept me busy here.

Apple pies and blue skies had me in an unending state of euphoria.

Acid memories still don’t keep my heart away from you Ardmore.

A smile of heaven and the love of people keeps me knee deep in ambrosia.

Atlanta holds my body with her traffic but you have my heart and mind.

Adrift are my dreams of seeing you again and your pink azalea.

Alive with happiness my heart is today that I grew up cradled in you.

Hmm... here the punctuation works well, and I'm really liking this progression of your poetry. Your senryu's are helping you create poetry that REALLY says something powerful. Not that your playful, lighthearted poetry is bad but I'm so much more a fan of when a poem tackles something real... like this. A great tribute to a hometown, bet you were feeling nostalgia in this one.
