Lost What I Adored

My soul has been transformed

Lost what I most adored

Now I’m much too bored

I feel like a beached whale

That swells upon the shore

Now life seems like a bloody gore

As a child I hoped for so much more

I feel as if an angry lion has roared

My flesh he has torn

My life’s filled with so many chores

Author's Note

Marie Harrison
The loss of my dog has me feeling numb inside. I feel like I lost apart of myself. Definately have been thinking about the brevity of life more. It's been a little morbid having such thoughts lately. I miss my puppy.

the rhyme was a tad forced, but besides that this was a very touching sweet poem. the picture seems a little off seeing as this was a poem meant for your late dogie.
by the way, i am sorry for your loss, a few weeks ago my neighbors dog killed my cat... i know how it feels to loose, and loosing an animal is not different than loosing family, there is an emptiness that cannot be filled created.
although the rhyme was slightly forced, i enjoyed reading this, after i read you "Authors Note" it actually helped me with the death of my kitty cat Percy. thank you Marie :)

Words of someone carrying a great burden as I know you have been. Very tragic and very touching. One can only hope this will pass.

It’s hard to fill that void when something close to you is gone, but the memories will live on. Thank you for sharing.

All loss is grievesome, brings home our own mortality, there is anger and rage in this poem, which cries out "IT'S NOT FAIR"

Sad...i've measured my life at times by the pets i've had...always wishing they could have been a longer part to m own short existence
