Writing Poetry

Opening my mind each time

To see what pours out through my pen

Hoping that giving life to these horrible thoughts

Will help me finally put them to a healthy end

Learning more about myself each and every day

With every poem that I write

Colors appear to be brighter and sounds are clearer

When I see my refection in the poet’s mirror

Healing has no ceiling in my heart

With every poem that gives me personal insight

I love this and believe that just about every writer feels this same way. Thank you for portraying that so wonderfully.

Great poem, Writing give you voice when you don't know what say or how to say it.

poetry is an art no mater what we put down.

I think it is that way for a lot of us and this really doesn't put those thoughts well.

I think the creative process is different for each of us; as varied as the personalities of those who write. But whether we write to entertain, educate or as a form of self-therapy...so long as we enjoy it and it causes no harm to others, I see no reason why we should stop. God knows, poets aren't in it for the money...lol...as Robert Frost once observed, "Being a poet is a condition...NOT an occupation" ;o) I like this a great deal. Well done.

So sweet is the essence of poetry for writers like you.

As for the picture brought this to my mind, Poor old Eve there with nothing on, face all red and her fig leaf gone, Oh what a picture oh what a picture stick it in your family album
