I strongly agree with the message of this piece. Some gifts are too precious to fade. I think the best gifts are precious, not because of what they are, but because of who gave them to us. I like how this piece concisely expresses that theme. In your case, the origami rose was more valuable than a real one, simply because someone special gave it to you.
I found this piece relatable too. My freshman year of highschool, one of my companions drew a smiley face on one of my test. I still have that test. I keep it in a special place in my binder, the same binder I keep my poetry and diary entries in. Sometimes when I feel down, I look at it and smile again. I'd think the origami rose has the same effect.

Wow! Wow! It's like a special gift from a family member to their son or daughter. It tells the reader in my opinion, that special people remain special and that no on can take their place or gift, such as a rose.
Amazing job Haiku specialist! :P
