Dead Memories

Dead Memories

A Poem by Denni

Happy f*****g Father's Day

I cry
not for my life now
I cry for my lost dreams
the life I'll never lead
those Father-Daughter dances
I just sat and watched them pass
people want a happy face
so I'll just grin and laugh
but when the dances end
my tears cant stay within
black and whites that hang
in houses of those girls
the girls I want to be
it's everything to me
no, I don't cry for this life
I cry for the memories I never had

To be honest this caught my attention because of the title (reminding me of the Slipknot song)
But I have to say this is a wonderful poem, I really enjoy the flow of it as well as the subtle rhythm, something I myself strive to achieve while also trying to not sound like a dr.seuss book.
Great job!
