Divorce

Divorce

A Poem by Sarah Kae
"

Love Triangle by RaeLynn inspired me to write this poem. My parents got a divorce when I was younger.

"

She was beautiful.

Blonde hair, green eyes.

She wanted everything for me.

She took me to school,

Cheer and volleyball.

She helped me with my spelling words.

And eventually, my calculus.

He was handsome.

Red hair, brown eyes.

He saw me every three weeks.

He’d come pick me up.

Take me to the local McDonald’s.

We’d talk for a little.

Then, I’d go home.

The life of someone.

Someone it seemed they forgot existed

When they told each other goodbye.

Always lonely.

Always lost.

Always wishing

To make my family whole, again.

i think the blase approach to this writing is close to the feeling of being between two worlds.
