A Poem by Chris Z

Tongue held and lips crossed,

I let my thoughts distill

Daming that which rushes and flows

Trying to escape with every breath

It hits you

The gravity of what you've said,

And in an instant you concede,

Raise your white flag and attempt to patch the tear

..but you can't

You can't break and burn;

Wreak and ravage

and expect the pieces to fit back in their place

Sometimes the shattered remains just can't be glued back together again.

    ... sometimes people aren't so resilient to the forks and knives thrown at them

   And I..

      ... I'm not emotion proof'; not how you want me to be,

and that's something I just can't change
