A love for Fall and Winter

A love for Fall and Winter

A Poem by Mike Mounts
"

Describing the events and feeling that take place during the seasons of fall and winter.

"

The temperatures are changing and the smell in the air ripens to perfection

As the Fairies gently pluck the colored leaves from their wooden hands

The pixies ride them to the ground making sure they form nature’s connection

The garden gnomes prepare the giant pumpkins to be ripe for others to receive

Humans prepare their homes for the yearly visit of Jack Frost and his biting chill

Carving and lighting the ripened picked pumpkins to keep ole jack at bay for another Hallows Eve

As we all prepare for the season of thanks and begin to crave the yearly feast

It reminds us that the season of giving and who is naughty or nice is just around the corner

As the children watch the Grinch as he kindly and selflessly carves the roast beast

We are reminded again of the fresh year to come as the evergreen is decorated by its adorner.
