I am many . . .

I am many . . .

A Poem by Chong N. Kim
"

It's about breaking away from any abusive relationship.

"
I am many . . .
I don't bench 80 to show you
how I knock them down.
I don't have trophies to show you
how I succeeded.
Kept my faith
even when I wasn't aware of it.
Hidden inside of me,
it was always there.
They've tried to break me,
they failed to keep me under.
I've disguised my pain through
a mask full of smiles.
Tears covered in cocaine,
My heart went numb,
but only through circumstances
I had to keep it in control.
Methodically planned my next scheme,
I'll DO whatever it takes
to rise from my pain.
To escape my own enslavement
as well as your treachery.
I did it and watch me do it again.
Don't try to keep me under glass.
I'll find a loop hole to run out of.
Haven't you learned by now
conformity is NOT for me.
I will spread my wings
fly where ever I may go.
With or without you,
makes no damn difference to me.
Either way, you'll get the boot
if you're not here to encourage me.
I don't have time to waste
on pathetic fools like you.
Say goodbye,
I'll never fall as your victim,
I just made you think you had one,
how stupid do you think I am,
to allow you to control me that way?
The only thing I have to thank you for
is unleashing the strength in me.
I maybe many jack of all trades,
but to be your prisoner
is one that I refuse to be.

You travel with emotions, and you keep them close.
Your poem shows just that, and you "refuse to be".
It shows a lot; bridged along well too.
