The Sun And Other Substances

The Sun And Other Substances

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

It was summer

We were drunk on

The sun and other substances

And I drew a place

                Somewhere new for us

A world where the sky reaches the ground

And the sun holds its rays

      Out like a million arms

                           Where the houses are towers

      With more windows than bricks

           And when we breathe

                      Our breath cartwheels

                           In swirls of turquoise light

                Now I doodle

Remember. And miss you.

That's beautiful, the past tense makes the whole thing so sad, but beautiful at the same time. I love it! x
