15. unstable

tried to patch up the cracks but it leaks through

holes big enough for you to peek through

built and rebuilt but you still seek to

trespass to pasts of one i could speak to

 

levels up and down but never consistent

you come back around ever persistent

 

try to show charm and restart us with a smile

as if you've done no harm to my heart in a while

saying our love has no need of labels

how can you expect yourself to get a grip

when every time you're held you start to slip?

it's pull and shove because we're unstable

 

tried to push you where i couldn't find you

you split the seams just enough to shine through

when you're just a show, the spotlight will blind you

allow me to shade the lies and remind you

 

wavelengths back and forth but never even

what i asked you for you just don't believe in

 

you're leaving me alone then you won't leave me be

relieving me of you then re-deceiving me

you'd quit the games but you're just unable

how can you ever hope to settle down?

you plant flowers then rip the petals out

you're the one to blame for us being unstable

 

you want to pack me away

then unpack when you want to play

you toy with me at your convenience

whenever you return

you quickly leave me burned

alone and scorched by grievance

 

your eyes shone sincerely but now lie so vacant

you make your own bed in sad isolation

your words were made of myths and of fables

held by your machinations i outgrew

to see your insecurity now proves
