A Butterfly's BlessingA Story by The Invisible GirlI break out of my shell, my comfort zone, my cocoon I spread my wings and let them dry. The sun rays make my reds, and golds look like fire As my fiery wings dry, I jump off my branch and plumb it to my death. Or so you think. I use my brand new muscles to flap my thin wings. The wind helps pull me up,so I can see everything. I see lakes of red, purple, and orange flowers I sit down on a flower licking the gold nectar to fill my empty stomach Out of no where Everything went black I jump around and start to scream But I was trapped I then hear a laugh and a voice The voice was tender and sweet. It soon calmed me down with it's hushing The light soon starts to break in my cage I'm blinded for awhile Then a face appears. It was a human boy. His hair was covering his sparkling brown eyes. His hair was black like the night His smile was like the sun blinding me more. He looked at me with love and curiosity I look back with curiosity I flew up to his face to give him a gift A butterfly kiss my kind call it A blessing the humans call it and A curse other say But I never knew what it effects were My kind never wanted us to associate with the humans As, I flew away I see him watching me with a smile on his face. Did he know what I was? A fairy of no common race As I flew to my home My sight was blurry and fading in and out I started to fall Down to the cold hard ground to my death. --------------------- I woke up with a start It was all just a dream. What did it mean? To clear my head I decided to take a walk to the cafe I put on my red jacket and headed to the cafe With my head down, I accidentally knocked into someone Making the person drop his books "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!!!" I say as I pick up the person's books As I handed the person it's book My eyes were locked with the guy's brown eyes. They were so familiar. As we both stood up, I saw that the guy was the same guy from my dream. "Hello! My name is Derek. Do I know you?" He asked. "I'm not sure. My name is Yara." Derek smiled, "Were you heading to the cafe?" "Yes," I blushed because of his beautiful smile. "May I join you, Little Butterfly." "Sure." I continued to smile. --------------- On the ground By a bush I lay on the cold ground I was happy that I gave the boy a blessing even though it costed my life. Those dumb humans were wrong butterfly kisses weren't a curse They were a blessing of true love With her last, dying breath you could hear her say "Human are stupid to not believe in true love." Soon the butterfly begins to fade away into the ground As she disappears, a yellow flower begins to grow. It is a memory of her bravery and her butterfly kiss. When you a see a random flower just remember it could be a brave butterfly who gave it's life to kiss a human. And maybe just maybe that human could be you!
