TULIPS

A poem composed by Keshmai for a Wicked Witch Friend "Cor"

Mock me down, thinking you can tie strings on me,

You may stain me with these cynical feelings,

Of false hopes and bland endings,

Justifying your selfish wants.

 

You may not know,

I am not what you think I am known.

I may wither and fall from this web of doom,

In the end I will sprout and bloom.

 

Don't you know I am an eternal being?

Season may test frailty within me,

But I stood from the test of time,

Giving worth half a dime.

 

Perennial is my basic nature.

Cycle with of the seasons I am nurtured.

I will always come back to share my beauty,

To capture again the beams set forth on me...

Don't mock or degrade me, for it won't stain me.... I am perennial, and will live forever, in all seasons, and will always have strength and hope...so your negative words will not make me change, for I have the will to live....I am always nurtured by the seasons, they will take care of me.

Tulips are beautiful. I bought a bouquet of them for my sister last week. These words have strength in them. Written from a writer who can bounce back and understands friendships have to be nurtured just like flowers do.
