Lane Frost in spur ation

A Poem by lee von cleef
"

Lane Frost Made a generation ,Ty,Tuff,Cody, kept the Dream real.

"
Up in the rodeo
Bucking chute perfume
Bulky shoulders, blunted horns
Square splendid yellow eyed presence
eight seconds or oblivion
Purer genetics don't exist
Buckle busting glass
Jerking me out of the
sky
one ,two, three, smashes me
obliging merciful dirt

Such vivid detail puts you right on the back of that bucking broncho, and interestingly it's admiration of the animal's physique that registers rather than the rider's emotion. Comparisons are odious, but someone you put me in mind of is Cormac McCarthy, with a greater realish for language and without his rather wearying nihilism.

What stunning, swift glimpses of the wild side of life... facing off with horns in an eight second duel. So emotionally charged!
