Life In The Allyway

Life In The Allyway

A Poem by Invisible Ink

Along the secret avenues
where the sidewalks meet
in unexpected ways
where the streetlights
shimmer on wet black night
and footsteps echo
back and forth off the
faces of empty lifeless windows
an alley cat, calling out
births life in a box house
