But I Love Him

But I Love Him

A Poem by Invisible Ink

narcissist abuse

But I Love Him
'but I love him'
is the noose
around the neck,
the shackles
on the ankles,
the tape
on the mouth...
'but I love him'
IS THE PRISON.
Once free,
that twisted love
will die, and you
will feel the
appropriate emotions;
anger, hatred, disgust.
Once free,
there will be
no more
'but I love him'
killing you
slowly.
Once free,
you will be
that cloud
that wave
that bird
in the never-ending
deepest of blues.
And we will be
so happy to see you.
