For A Rat

The lines will make you realize that this world is nothing but a rattrap

Sky is such a rare sheet to look at,
A cover for all who fear the truth,
Absolute hideaway for a rat.

Trap is a known fact,
Once caught, never loosens
We wish for a corrupt pact,
But even being wicked, humble is our act.

All this, just for a rat.

Grief comes flying as a bat,
Black as the heart and that of a rat.
We get sluggish and wish to adore,
Things we cherished and plans we had.
Who was the thief?
Difficult to answer,
Easy to deny,
Under a cover is our head.

All this, just for a rat.

Amicable we feel, opposite we've become
Sympathy we wish, revenge seeks us.
Light we ignite, Darkness we blossom.
Power we lose, What's left, is a fuss.
Finally what rises is the impact,
Urge to hide under a hat,

All this, just for a rat.

Remember well, For our face,
The blue sky is nothing but a slap.
Rats we are, and this world a rattrap.

The rattrap! I still remember bits and pieces of my lessons, haha.
Well, you have done a remarkable job of adapting a poem from an abstract theme. The lines, 'sympathy we wish,.... Darkness we blossom', are a fine example of contrast bringing out our hypocrisy. The idea of us being rats caught in the rattrap, that is this whole wide world, can sure make us rethink our choices and priorities.
