She Couldn't Conquer Herself

She Couldn't Conquer Herself

A Poem by Pyrrha Rayn
"

Had a day of deep thinking. This was the outcome....

"
Like a Venus Flytrap
Beautiful and interesting
On the outside
But,
Poisonous on the inside.

Nothing more then a nightmare
Dressed up as a
Daydream.

Trying to believe I'm still
The 5 year old girl with
An invincible smile
And wild eyes.

Not a decaying corpse
That keeps a monster
Caged inside.

And yet I remember those words
So bitterly
"I can't wait to grow up."

Why?

What happened to that
Little girl who believed
She could conquer the skies?

Oh,
Right she realized
She couldn't even
Conquer the beast inside.

So, how could she even
Dream or believe that
She could still conquer
The skies?
