Dream Girl

Dream Girl

A Poem by Angad Waraich

: Its that time
That time again
The time
When i see you smile
And fall in love
All over again

But then again
The thought gets lost in the wind
As i wake up from a dream
The One i can never live in

As reality strikes
I come to grips with life
And realize
For you i am but a shadow
Maybe a cloud passing by

But then again
I look into those eyes
And that thought vanishes from my mind
And i loose sense of wrong and right
As i stand dazzled by the glow in those eyes

Try as i may i can not forget
The gleam
The joy
The life
Inside those eyes
And that gleam
Leads me to my dream
A place i'd trade my whole world to be

Hold those hands i never may
Or be the reason behind your smile
But i know for sure
You are the one behind mine
Even if its only for a while

Hello there!

What a beautifully written poem! It reminds me of one of my favorite Dr. Seuss quotes:

"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."

This poem takes the idea of dreams being better than reality, because in our dreams we don't have to feel unrequited love. But one of my favorite aspects of love is the fact that even if it is not returned, we can still derive happiness from it, simply by seeing the other person (which reminds me of one of your other poems)--and that's part of the beauty of the enigma of it.

I truly enjoyed reading this--thank you for sharing it!

Longing, loving, dreaming fantasy.
It stands over the line between heartbreak and joy and teeters in a dirction which you can only dream to be joyful.
Very well played, what a sweet poem!

This poem is simply beautiful, and romantic.
It tells a story of a guy who just keeps daydreaming about this certain girl, who has him in a daze. Even though she doesn't know him, he admires her from a distance... quietly.
Maybe she would be just as intreged by him if only he where to speak to her!
Great write :)

Thank you for reading. :)
i love your flow and imagery, i love the gentle tones of your voice and the understanding within your soul...

but.. can i ask why? why in that moment could you not throw all to the skies... to trade your world and try?

i know this was about accepting and enjoying that which could never be... but i say, it ain't over til it's over ;)

Such beauty flows with your words. Speechless at the beauty and depth of this one! The feelings you evoke in your readers is a real talent and I am so glad that you share your work with us.

This was a great way of sweeping the reader back to the reality as you are taken on this ride through your poem. Very nice!

Thank you so very much =)
Really appreciate it.
I don't know why but every time i read your poem i get lost in my imagination. very nice, the words spoke to me as if they were mine. thank you for sharing this. =)

those words or parts captured my emotions. only thing is the redundancy of the word 'again' on the first part. but that is your style and every writers and poets has their own way of saying things. aside from that this poem speaks loudly.
