Staring

Staring

A Poem by creepersjeepers

You notice me staring.
I would stop,
but I can't seem to drag my eyes away from you.

I'm watching your chest
rise and fall
with every breath.

Your skin is soft and inviting
illuminated by
the windows lighting.

I watch your lips move
listening intently
to every word you speak.

We're laying in bed
you're holding me
head on your chest

I can feel your heart beat
I wonder if it beats for me
Is your heart really mine to keep?

But then you get up to leave
Just for a moment
A moment can feel like eternity

All of a sudden I'm scared
What if you don't come back
My chest starts to give in with every breath

I can't stand to be in this bed without you
every fiber of the sheets
reminds me of you.

I would rather sleep on the floor
than without you.
It's now that I realize how much I need you

You have good observation of action and emotions. Rhyming of poem keeping meaning and is done in very gentle way. I think this is nice a poem.
