A Poem by slightly terrified

Everything does revolve around money, everyone is becoming so materialistic. It really bothers me that people aren't pursuing their dream career for the sole reason that it doesn't make enough money. Or when people base relationships off of the things they get each other. I wish others had the will power to give themselves a reality check every once in awhile. Realize what they have and be thankful for everything and just truly enjoy things. I know how hard it is, I know that struggle all too well... But feeling of living in the moment and not having a care at all is amazing. People get too caught up in the endless dull cycle of work/school etc. and don't understand how unsatisfied they really are. Life should be about doing what you enjoy the most and not caring. We have such a short time, I don't want to spend it being miserable.

I had no previous plans for this piece, so it is rather messy. All feedback is appreciated as always!

Not to make your head too big, but nice work. This is what I am talking about - as the phrase goes.
This is juicy & has substance; it is something worthy to be analyzed & thought about and unfortunately is not, at least not that I have seen.
& yes,
precisely why people aren't pursing their dreams.... I used to blame the money & life and I honestly probably still do at times, but it's without a doubt the "people." You have to put your everything into your passion or focus - if you want it to finance your life.
& yes,
most people, if not everyone, have/has a passion or dreams, but not everyone is willing to put in the time & energy it takes - their everything. It is a toll & sadly, I believe most underestimate what it takes before they even begin -- thus ensuring their failure.
I was also going to go into this " People get too caught up in the endless dull cycle of work/school etc. and don't understand how unsatisfied they really are." -- especially the end part, but you then covered it -- good job.
Everything Pete says is true. Maintain this inquisitive mindset. You have the right kind of judgment & perspective on "things." Not trying to sound like some elder-writer, but your thought process reminds me so much of my own & I have found myself coming back to this kind of style of writing. I suggest you nurture this style. When one writes like this, their writing
becomes crystal clear.

Creativity is a part of human nature, It can only be untaught. One of my favorite quotes by A Wei Wei
I think it could relate to what your saying in the aspect of people are taught to be closed minded by the duller things in life when we are young we can be taught to believe anything.

I have been very uninspired lately so I won't be posting as much. That is also why my pieces are decreasing in quality so I'd rather not post a lot of bad ones and just post a good one when the right .. more..
