Delirious

Delirious

A Poem by Ben Taylor

I heard your voice,
low and confident over-top
quiet chords.
I could have sworn
this was a fever dream;
it paralleled too perfectly
my brain's unconscious ramblings,
where you always seem to be
a main character.
Like a favorite sweater,
not worn since last winter,
these feelings felt comfortable,
incredibly easy to slip back into.
I hadn't even noticed
I was shivering,
until suddenly I wasn't.
