Attitude

Attitude

A Poem by Hebe
"

You know when it's the end!

"

Give me a rose

I want a diamond

am I being demanding? ....perhaps

you proclaim to love me

but you just cast a shadow over everything

I want fine dining

a chandelier, an embroidered napkin even

I think I deserve this treatment

Oh you think I have an attitude?

how about a cherry in my champaign

a menu of gastronomic delights

peacock, pheasant, turnip and potatoes yes that sounds very fine

I know I'm being difficult

but you have never offered me anything ever

not even a flower as a romantic guesture

but none of that matters now

I saw you yesterday, kissing someone else

.... yes you heard right

very passionately, I might add

she was holding a rose

Oh one more thing a honeymoon with a ocean view!

Goodness me, I never noticed before, how pasty white you look

but I think you just realized

you cast a shadow over everything!

this is goodbye

goodbye for ever!

There is a certain self-awareness here that allows for empathy despite what the speaker calls "being difficult". As someone who is usually uninterested much in material things, I am nonetheless intrigued by this poem and curious to know more of the story.

Thank you Rajashree, when you play it too smart...sometimes you get caught;)
I enjoyed the tale in the poem and the good ending. We learn in the end if someone is cold and heartless. Thank you my friend for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome dear Poet.
Attitude, Attitude, Attitude....the plastic and fake people of society. Loved the wording you used here...you got it down to perfection. Cherry in my champange - brilliant word useage, whch you can really imagine coming from a spoilt, silver spooned brat.

This was cool...the ending I loved.

Kudos again

Mark.

Some people want more, more, more and even then it is not enough. If a person is always negative and casts a shadow on every bit of happiness, I say RUN...and run fast. I liked this a lot. Lydi**
