History Won't Repeat

The things I used to think of you

were always nice and sweet

Did you honestly believe

I wanted history to repeat

The family that you made 

beat out the one you had

Why should I care

whether you are feeling sad?

It's been quite a while

since I've heard from you at all

You didn't even bother

to pick up the phone and call

I think about your son

and how adorable he must be

An amazing little boy

that I regrettably can not see....

From the boldness in each descriptive word, I assume that this past experience has happened to you? Heartbreak is always devastating. Though I would break up the poem lines a few, nice rhyming and rhythm and flow. This is a good poem, but I expect better to come from you. [:
