Perfectly Imperfect

Searching constantly
for the person I'm trying to become
for a way out
for an answer to the questions I've been asking all along

Always falling short
of people's expectations
of the goals I hope to reach
of a way to stand seeing my reflection

Never quite understanding
why the pieces never fit together
why no one ever stays
why the truth is so far from reality

Full of regret and anger
from the pain that no one see's
from the cries that go unnoticed
from the past I can't seem to leave behind

We all try to find ourselves in some form or another, and this poem reflects just that: the constant search for self in a selfish world where "truth is so far from reality." The good thing is that poets are able to express this self-search through words, where they can express their disillusionment and find some comfort in putting it all down and sharing it with a community like WC that cares and relates.
