VI. Austria

VI. Austria

A Poem by Dana Alsamsam
"

from my series "World Vision" in which I address a poem to every destination I've visited.

"
I discuss my breakfast choice
With the affable Danube,
And run my fingers
Along the edge of the river bank.
My pale palm surfaces
Covered with amaranth petals
Of composers beginnings
(and ends)
I inhale your clouds
With champagne and chocolate,
Breathier than a first kiss,
Into the sygnet of sunset.

This is so descriptive, Dana - really well worded. I love the last four lines of this write quite sexy in a way. ;-P Nicely done.

simultaneously opulent and accessible...decadent, but of the earth...i feel at once relaxed and pampered here....not bad things at all.....lovely again, dana.

Not many could describe a country with such talent as to equate first kisses, palmfuls of inspiration and damnation, and breakfast on the Danube the way you have. Sexy and stylish.

The incredible blue Danube...how could one not be inspired? Of course, there are a select few that take that inspiration to a higher level and articulate it in a way that only a true poet can...and guess what, you're a true poet :)
