NEW YORK SOUL

NEW YORK SOUL

A Poem by DANA PERNA

NEW YORK SOUL

Living in New York I felt

like a young foal.

Living in these strange cities I feel

like a fish in a bowl.

The emptiness of this lonely city has

left a hole.

I’m far away from home and I’ve

taken all the judgment they can dole.

Though they tore at my soul

it will not affect my goal.

All in all, I have a New York soul

and that cannot be stole.
